However, with time and a little effort it is possible for moms to lose weight and get back to looking good in their pre-pregnancy clothes. Some exercise programs will not be suitable to help women with babies, but others are precisely what is needed, help with diet good for both you and your baby, but one not likely to have you putting on more weight.
You need to look for an exercise program that suits your many needs. As a new mom, you may find that you need a very short program, and you may well find that exercising at home is your best chance of getting achieving any level of fitness, just because of the lack of time, and perhaps the inability to schedule your life while your baby is so young! I know I tried some programs when my first daughter was born, but the hassle involved, and the problems of feeding on demand, meant that it really didn't work well for me. I would have been better to use a fitness program at home.
There are many programs that you can use at home to get fit, but make sure you use one that fulfills your needs as a mother. Spending 2 hours a day working out, probably won't work for you, but if it does, good for you, go for it! Personally a shorter commitment each day is more liekly to get me exercising regularly, but that's me, and we all have different needs.
The most important thing is to get exercising regularly, so that your fitness level does improve, your body will trim down, and you will begin to look less like a pregnant mom in no time at all!
