Within a couple of months of giving birth, with the proper exercise, and the proper diet, you will be able to shed some of those pounds that went on so quickly while you were pregnant, and you'll begin to feel much better about yourself. Soon people will begin to admire your new body shape, as well as your new baby!
Of course if you are breast feeding your baby, then you need to take special care with your diet to ensure that both you and your baby are receiving the correct nutrients each day. Making sure you milk production is good and flowing well has to be a major concern when you even think about restricting calories for yourself. You don't want your baby crying more often of hunger, I am sure! But at the same time, you don't want to be eating too many calories either.
There are many programs out there designed for weight reduction, but not as many geared towards new moms and their very special needs. The program should be thorough, but you mustn't get too exhausted with your exercise routine, because remember, unless you are one of the very few lucky moms, the chances are that you will have to be up during the night at least once a night. Can you imagine being so exhausted after a really good workout, and hearing your baby crying and needing feeding again, the amount of effort it will take you to go to him or her? It can be really difficult, but once you start seeing the results of your fitness exercises and watching your diet, you will be so much more encouraged to continue.
So, get fit for yourself, Mom, you deserve it!
